Enhancing human-powered vehicle performance.
Modifying and updating past human-powered vehicles, specifically Maroro (land speed record bike) and Mako (trike), implementing design improvements to increase overall speed and optimise them for easier operation by smaller teams.
Improvements were seen necessary for past years vehicles, as it was known that the vechicles were not performing to their full potential. For example Maroro the 2024 bike is very hard to feasibly operate as a team of around 11 people is necessary to ensure saftey, so our project goal is to design outrigger wheels to allow the rider to stop the vehicle by themselves and other smaller improvements to make the vehicle faster. Smaller improvements are also going to be made to Mako, the 2025 trike, to make it easier and more predictable to steer.
